Gerber Hunting Knife

Summary: No one can argue that a good quality gerber hunting knife is a standard tool for any survival situation, search & rescue, mount or any other situation that requires a multi-tool, versatile and reliable for a rescuer or fond of outdoor activities . Today, a gerber hunting knife should be an extension of user activities can perform tasks efficiently, quickly and accurately. After all, time and human life is precious in the world of rescue. Gerber is a legendary American brand's creative tools as famous as his knife Mark I and Mark II. This time there is good reason for gerber hunting knife has designed this tool since years ago the U. S. Army was looking for a survival knife, including your holster, for their helicopter pilots involved in situations of decline, where the same debiesen survive behind enemy lines. Thus, the model Asek "(Aircrew Survival & Egress Knife) was selected from 30 models of different brands. Pros: The first impression by having this gerber hunting knife in our hands, was that really is well balanced, it is extremely solid and even in the most oversized keys, where you can actually be enforced. A very comfortable grip Kraton insert, does not only fit comfortably in any position, but also provides strong security and anti-slip. The first thing we see is his absolute integrity and cast dowel through a complex manufacturing process, which merges a powerful blade with the handle back. The latter can actually from tempered glass, and even Plexiglas or other types of polycarbonate due to a pointed tip very aggressive and well designed. Making beats, driving a nail or any other movement of punch is really effective using the integrated sheath to prevent cuts in the palm of the hand. It is a real hammer. With a grade sheet Rockwell C 58, the hardness of the gerber hunting knife and forced use in situations such as lever pressing and ax blows rate guaranteed. This same account with a false edge on top, back side, which infers a high performance penetrating any object. The back is thick enough to be beaten with a thickness of about 7. 1 mm. , The blade has a length of 12. 7 cm. long enough to carry multiple cutting maneuvers, hit and penetration. Very useful is the section sawn edge, which allows us to easily cut ropes and other items that require higher level of tearing and cutting. Primarily designed to be graduating from a downed helicopter, this gerber hunting knife has 2 small holes near the guard which facilitate the passage of accessory cords up to 3. 5mm (commonly used in military, miscellaneous uses such as mountain climbing or even boots and shoes laces ) to turn this into a powerful tool for gerber hunting knife or fishing spear, preventing slippage or involuntary loss of part of the stick grip. Made of stainless steel, the most remarkable is the knob without doubt capable of breaking the Plexiglas Class J of a helicopter. The design of it follows a terrible vibration absorption when used as a hammer and used the cover provided, provides electrical insulation. As an interesting bonus, the LMF II comes with a sharpener blade inserted into the sleeve. Very easy to use and really effective, this sharpener can be replaced over time. The cover itself is easily disengaged from any element to be readily used as a handle when the gerber hunting knife should be used as a hammer. The mounting options of this tool are endless, thanks to the locking system has truly revolutionary. Another interesting item is the gerber hunting knife to cut rescue slings, belts and clothing, provided as an accessory which is annexed in a separate case that can be integrated into the main case. LMF II Infantry version comes without this accessory for anyone that needs it or wants to save a few dollars less. There are stories about soldiers in Iraq than there used this gerber hunting knife to bore hollow and solid bricks to spend their rifles through them and to find better firing positions, without being significantly damaged the blade, rather than having to sharpen with the sharpening provided in few minutes. Cons: Although not intended as a machete, and its dimensions make it extremely handy, especially since it is intended as an exit tool, we would have liked a sheet of at least 3cm. longer, to have a better shot at when trying to use it to achar, better penetration and do so even more versatile. I really liked your review, I think it is fair to the interesting points of this knife. I had the chance to get one in Mexico last year and so far is my favorite by far. I collect knives, but none of them meet as many things as good as this. Very good review, I just got the version Infantry after months of intense searching here in Mexico City. My first impression (which was in the store) was: WOW THIS HUGE . . It seemed pretty big compared to the size shown in the photographs. On the other hand, I felt immediately and conviction with this knife, I knew I would not leave me stranded in any situation, so I bought it without thinking. This review is very good. I bought a Gerber LMF II Asek in the U. S. , and although I live in Nicaragua and gave him little use, I'm very glad I bought it, there are places where the machete is too so I take my knife gerber I wish they had not "serrated" part of the road and has an inch long over the edge, then to use that I would be more appropriate because I am not a military pilot, but I like to venture into the bush. . .
